Puzzles include word searches, mazes, codes, riddles, anagrams, crosswords, matching, moon sequencing and secret messages.

How does the hunt work?

Choose as many clue cards as you like, then hide a small wrapped treat at each matching location. Hand over the Halloween introduction letter and let the children solve the tricks to find the treats.

The clues do not need to be hidden or completed in a set order. Most parents hand over the whole pack at once, but you can give the cards one at a time if you prefer.

Example hiding locations include behind a cushion, in a coat pocket, under a pillow, in the laundry basket or sock drawer, under a table, on a bookshelf, where pasta is kept and in or under a desk. Simply skip any location that does not suit your home.

Use as many or as few clues as you like to make the hunt shorter or longer. Setup takes under 10 minutes, and the hunt typically lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the number of clues and the children taking part.

What do I need to prepare?

Why I created this

"Mummy, what even is the trick in trick or treat?

That became the starting point for this hunt and my kids helped write it."
